IT FACULTY

The IT Faculty consists of the two departments Applied Information Technology and Computer Science and Engineering.

The research at the Department of Applied Information Technology focuses on digitalization of society and digitalization as a transformational force. Examples of the research areas: informatics, learning and IT, communication, and cognitive science.

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology is integrated between University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology, with research in for example language technology, interaction design, programming logic, and software engineering.

The IT Faculty is very international with researchers, students and PhD students from around 30 different countries and there is a close cooperation with companies and organisations, both internationally and nationally.

  • Sustainability and humanity in focus at C&SE Hackathon 2019

    [14 Aug 2019] Between May 10 - 12 our students participated in the Computer & Software Engineering (C&SE) Hackathon 2019. A total of 33 students from various programs, such as Software Engineering and Management, Computer Science, Applied Data Science got together in teams to work together with organizations such as Ericsson, OpenHack and Västtrafik to develop solutions under the themes of "sustainable and smart cities" and "coding for humanity".

    [14 Jun 2019] The IT Faculty Spring Ceremony for all programme students who are finishing their studies during the spring semester 2019 took place - as usual - in the beautiful University Assembly Hall.
