  • IT as support for reduced maternal mortality - interview with Hawa Nyende

    [21 Oct 2019] Hawa Nyende is one of the PhD students in the BRIGHT project - a SIDA-financed collaboration between University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, and Mbarara University and Makerere University in Uganda. Hawa Nyende's research area is in the e-health domain, with a focus on the use of IT to reduce maternal mortality in developing countries.

  • Use of social media is taking place both online and offline

    [15 Oct 2019] Social media has changed how people interact. However, social media use is neither static or specifically linked to certain platforms. Emerging technical capabilities, changes in lifestyle and time management as well as the increasing possibilities to engage in online and offline interaction simultaneously affect our use of social media. Those are some of the results from a new doctoral thesis on Instagram and social media from University of Gothenburg.

    [10 Oct 2019] SWEG 2020 is a forum for discussing current eGovernment research issues. The workshop is dedicated to open and creative discussions about the current status of eGovernment research and future directions.

  • Aleksandre Asatiani is new senior lecturer in informatics

    [19 Sep 2019] Aleksandre Asatiani is new senior lecturer at the Division of Informatics, Department of Applied IT. He was born in Russia, grew up in Georgia, lived over twelve years in Finland, two years in England and now recently moved to Sweden. He speaks four languages and finally got his bike shipped to Gothenburg from Birmingham, so that he can explore the city. He currently lives in Askim and is now preparing to learn Swedish.

  • Research project - A future with "social drones"

    [12 Sep 2019] Drones are expected to become an increasingly common tool in our everyday lives. In a new project, researchers from the Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering will be investigating how social drones are best used and regulated in order to benefit individuals and society as a whole.
