  • AI agents can learn to communicate effectively

    [15 Jul 2020] A multi-disciplinary team of researchers from Chalmers and University of Gothenburg has developed a framework to study how language evolves as an effective tool for describing mental concepts. In a new paper, they show that artificial agents can learn how to communicate in an artificial language similar to human language. The results have been published in the scientific journal PLOS ONE.

  • Temporary scholarship for fee-paying students

    [15 Jun 2020] Based on a recognition of the vulnerability of students affected by financial crisis caused by the ongoing pandemic, the University of Gothenburg launches a temporary scholarship programme for our fee-paying students. The scholarship purpose is to support our current students in the transition to the coming academic year 2020/2021.

    [12 Jun 2020] The BSc student in informatics at University of Gothenburg, Tanya Singh, has been appointed "Tech Girl of the Year" 2020 by Microsoft Sweden.

  • Teaching both digital and on-campus this autumn

    [5 Jun 2020] Although the government has withdrawn its recommendation for remote studies, the return to campus this autumn will be limited. This is because other recommendations to help reduce the spread of the covid-19 infection still apply.

  • Congratulations, Thommy Eriksson, to the IT Faculty Pedagogical Prize 2020!

    [28 May 2020] The recipient of the IT Faculty Pedagogical Prize in 2020 is Thommy Eriksson, Division of Interaction Design. Thommy receives the prize for his pedagogical work in the master's programme Game Design & Technology and the course Digital movie making, as well as his long-standing work with the transition to digital learning.
