Findwise, a leading IT-consultant company within Search and Findability in Europe, has decided to create a fund in memory of co-worker Henrik Strindberg, who passed away 2015. Henrik’s work at Findwise had a significant impact and he remained in contact with academia throughout his career. Henrik’s educational background included studies at the IT Faculty.

Who can apply?

Eligible for application are students studying at any of the programmes within the IT Faculty, who are writing a thesis at BSc, "Magister", or MSc level. The thesis has to be within one of the following areas: Findability, Search/Enterprise Search, Information management, Big Data/Analytics or Text analysis. Students can apply for travel grants or for grants to cover other expenditures connected to the thesis work. Maximum contribution per thesis is 5000 SEK.

Applications and questions are sent to: HenrikStrindbergsMinnesfond@findwise.com

The application has to contain information on the applicants, names etc, contact information, and also a brief summary of the thesis, together with the requested amount of money and a motivation for the contribution.

The steering committee for the memorial fund decides whether a contribution will be distributed or not and will inform about the decision as soon as possible. The decision can not be appealed.

Deadline for the application for 2017 is 14 April.
